Slug (friendly URL)
Categories have an editable Slug (URL) field: only lowercase letters, numbers and hyphens, 3–160 characters (e.g. categoria-solo-2026). Leave it blank to auto-generate from the name. The slug must be unique and appears in the view URL (/categorias/{slug}).
Publishing status
Categories use Draft, Public, Unlisted, and Cancelled. Only Draft can be saved before the form is complete. Public categories appear on the event page; Unlisted categories require their direct link.
Which events a category can belong to
Each organizer sees and manages only the categories of their own events. If you open a category that belongs to another organizer's event, or try to create or move a category into someone else's event, the screen reports that the record was not found — that is the expected behaviour, and it is what protects the event owner's data. Administrators can see every category.
Category catalogs
In Styles, Technical Criteria, and Judges, select as many items as needed. These options can be reused by that organizer's other events only. To add a new item, type its name and confirm the suggested option. It will be saved for that organizer and linked to the category when you save the form.
Members, fee and rooms
Competition types are grouped together: Solo accepts 1 member, Duet 2, Trio 3,
and Group lets you define the allowed number. The registration fee is charged
per member; for example, a duet at $50 per member costs $100 in total.
Enter amounts with a comma and two decimal places, such as 50,00.
After selecting the event, you can select an existing competition or result room, or type a new name to create the room automatically for that event.
Dates: registration vs competition
- Registration start/end and the Result date define when people can sign up and when the result is published.
- The competition dates (when the contest happens) come from the event period and the category's Schedule list. There is no separate competition date field on the category: add the slots (e.g. qualifier, final) inside the event period.
Category banner (media)
The category banner is a square (1:1) image shown in its public listing. When you upload a file (JPG, PNG, or WebP up to 10 MB), the editor opens so you can adjust the crop: drag to position and use + / − to zoom, then confirm with Apply. You can also paste the URL of a square image. For a new category, the image is kept and published automatically when you save for the first time.
Change the status right from the listing
In the Cards view, each category's status appears as a dropdown when you have permission to edit. Just click the current status and pick the new one — Draft, Public, Unlisted, or Cancelled. The change saves instantly with a confirmation toast. If you don't see the dropdown, your role doesn't have permission to change that category's status.
